The 30 day challenge
This challenge has nothing to do with eating right, exercising or shrinking your waistline! In fact, this may be one thing that you do this January that will really pay off for the entire year!
I recently listened to a Joyce Meyer teaching where she talked about how often we spend lots of time focusing on the negative things are spouse does, and very little time noticing the positive things. She mentioned that if we would take 30 days to stop critiquing our spouse and start complimenting them instead — it would change our marriage.
I completely agree!
The Challenge
If you want to see real change in your marriage in 2010, take the 30 day challenge:
Spend the next 30 days, watching your spouse, noticing when they pick up their shoes (instead of leaving them out), feed the dog (without you asking them to do it), take out the trash — ANYTHING — and then say something positive about it, build them up.
Surely your husband or wife does at least one positive thing a day.. focus on that.
Let me know how it goes! I’ll be trying it in my marriage too!

I've tried to do something like this in the past… and unfortunately I have to say – I didn't complete the 30 days, or should I say didn't do it everyday. And though January has already begun, I'm up for the challenge again – to begin late (but at least I'm beginning), especially since its something we should try our best to always do. And knowing if you work at something for at least 28 days, I've heard & experienced that it becomes a natural habit! I pray this journey can build marriages of honour to our Father in heaven!
Thanks for putting this together, HL
Thanks for the comment Heather! I know it is hard challenge, but I figure all I can do is try! The great thing about a challenge is that you can try it over and over… Good Luck!

From a generous wife fan….got this via redirection and isn't this a challenge. although i don't really spend time faulting my husband (but i do ignore negatives AND positives!) i am guilty of not complementing him for all the great things he does and he is awesome. my hubby works away 9 days and home for 5 and when he gets home he will always ask nicely (makes me sick lol) if there is anything that needs doing, fixing etc and even if there isn't he finds lots of little things to help out,,,the dog for walk, children to school, comes shopping with me, garbage out, tidies after himself etc……just awesome and i certainly take it all for granted. so i am going to make the effort and hubby wont know whats happened!
